BoomerandsInteractive Wristbands Network
Interactive Wristbands Network
Social Network Development
About The Project
Boomerands was started by parents who wanted to harness the passion around wristbands in a totally new way.And then their kids got involved. The kids thought you could use wristbands to start a chain reaction: take one of a pair of uniquely coded bands, and give the other away in recognition of a good deed. Then that same band would be handed off again and again in successive acts of recognition, and giving. Fundamental to the product and its impact around the world is Boomerands.com, a social network which allows users to join the network, register their bands, track the travel of their bands as well as their number of good deeds.
The site is COPPA-compliant, allows youth to join with parent consent. Interactive "bands" count good deeds made by its members and feature a Google API to see where all its members are in the world. On the back-end, admins can generate new codes for production, immediately syncing them with the band database on the site, as well as address flagged content and users.
